Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is classic science fiction work that continues be significant warning our society today. Tony Britton, reader, does an excellent job portraying clinical detachment as true nature of human incubators revealed. The tone lightens during vacation to wilderness and contrast even more striking. Each character given separate personality by Britton's voices. As story moves from clinical detachment to human interest Bernard, nonconformist, John, "Savage," listeners drawn more deeply into plot. Finally, reasoned tones of Controller explain away all John's arguments against civilization, leading John's death he cannot reconcile his beliefs to irs.The abridgement very well done, and overall message of novel clearly presented. The advanced vocabulary complex mes lend mselves class discussion further research. There sure be demand this classic schools public libraries.
